I didn’t have to wait long to see what’s next from the Snapsort team. Their new baby  is LensHero, a great site for discovering and comparing digital SLR lenses.

LensHero uses magic to collect and organize lens specifications in a useful and pretty way. That alone is a great feature, and I couldn’t find any other site that does it better.

It can also suggest lenses for you based on your needs and what lenses you already have.

The algorithmic ballet that powers the site produces unbiased and consistent comparisons. Since lenses can’t be described by numbers alone, user reviews are also included to cover the less tangible features such as the feel of the lens, weight distribution, make quality, and subjective performance characteristics.
